Former President Trump has once again announced he would urge FIFA to pull upcoming World Cup matches from a designated city based on the local political climate, with Massachusetts now being the most recent targeted location to receive such statements from the White House. Furthermore, Trump suggested he would contemplate comparable measures against LA for the 2028 Olympics due to possible safety issues.

While Trump holds no direct legal authority to personally cancel either competition, he may lobby the organizing committees managing each tournament to change host cities.

These statements were made during a press event with Argentina's leader Milei, who was at the presidential residence following the revelation of a massive bailout for the Argentine country. Near the end of the event, a media member asked Trump about a current unauthorized gathering in the city where police officers were assaulted and a patrol car was ignited. The correspondent also wondered if such events could lead to the revocation of tournament responsibilities for the expanded soccer tournament.

“We could take them away,” the former president remarked regarding the FIFA World Cup fixtures, set to be staged at Gillette Stadium. “Their mayor is ineffective … she is far-left, and activists are dominating areas of Boston. That’s a pretty big claim, don't you think?”
