International friendly: Wales vs England

Venue: London's Wembley, London Date: October 9th Kick-off: 7:45 PM BST

The Wales head coach states the English player pool is so impressive that matchmakers would not match them against the Welsh team.

Bellamy's men face England in a non-competitive match at the national stadium on this Thursday before their crucial qualifying match against the Belgians next the following week.

England manager Tuchel has omitted the likes of Bellingham, Foden and Jack Grealish from his selection for the Wales friendly and their qualifying game against Latvia.

"England have a incredible team, similar to the French," the coach remarked.

"England have a market valuation of 1.4 billion pounds, ours is £170m. If you were a fight promoter, you would not match us up. That wouldn't be permitted."

He says ensuring the Welsh team can compete with the talented rivals is a "driving force".

Bellamy added: "Our team don't go off values, but the reality is England have more than a single lineup. They possess two, three, four and the French and others are similarly stacked. They have loads of top talents and that's the honest truth."

"A defender went out injured the recently and there's only two dozen others to go! They have over sixty players. I'd love us to be well-equipped similarly."

The neighbouring countries last faced each other at the 2022 tournament in Qatar, when England emerged as easy 3-0 winners in a fixture before Gareth Southgate's side reached the last eight.

The new manager is Thomas Tuchel, a Champions League and world club champion at the London club who has claimed league championships in Ligue 1 and his home country.

The Welsh boss was previously an assistant at Anderlecht and the English club to Kompany, who succeeded Tuchel at the German giants.

"He's an incredible coach - his achievements is proven," Bellamy added.

"I have some sort of understanding because the team he departed I know individuals who have gone in there. I get a bit of an insight from that of how he works and it's very impressive. "

"His tactical detail is elite and I wanted to be up against that - see how you're going to adapt because he will. I can learn from that. I'd love to get to such heights."
